The world’s most respected news-publication, the Times of London, reported on March 28 2010 that “white South African farmers are being wiped out’ and that the banned ANC genocidal hatespeech song “shoot the boer” was fanning the flames… Yet nine months later, the ruling party’s youth league leader has applied a law court to have this song of hatred unbanned…

‘Racist, xenophobic, inciting’ poster by ANC-linked student organisation
On November 10 2010 the civil-rights initiative Afriforum also lodged a formal hate-speech complaint at the SA Human Rights Commission against the SA Students’ Congress (SASCO) over its placards describing blacks as ‘the only South Africans’. The posters for a student council election were put up at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology by SASCO, says Afriforum ‘s youth branch spokesman.
“The poster is racist, xenophobic and inciting,” the national chairman of AfriForum Youth, Ernst Roets, said. “SASCO clearly does not intend to distance itself from the poster. Since the matter could not be resolved by talks, AfriForum Youth is left with no other option but to take it to the next level.”

“More white farmers have been killed in peacetime South Africa than British soldiers in two warzones…”
The Sunday Times wrote that ‘death has stalked South Africa’s white farmers for years. The number murdered since the end of apartheid in 1994 has passed 3,000. (Our list of names notes a death toll of 3,752 up to November 4 2010).
The Times wrote: “In neighbouring Zimbabwe, a campaign of intimidation that began in 2000 has driven more than 4,000 commercial farmers off their land, but has left fewer than two dozen dead,” (Note: in Oct 2010, two more were murdered, bringing the death toll to 24).
The Times also wrote: ”The vulnerability felt by South Africa’s 40,000 remaining white farmers intensified when Julius Malema, head of the (ruling party’s youth league, opened a public rally by singing Dubula Ibhunu, Shoot the Boer, an apartheid-era song that was banned by the high court last week.”
“Malema’s timing could hardly have been worse. Last weekend in the remote farming community of Colenso, in KwaZulu-Natal, Nigel Ralfe, 71, a dairy farmer, and his wife Lynette, 64, were gunned down as they milked their cows. They were unarmed. Farmer Nigel Ralfe -- although unarmed – first was severely beaten and then put on his knees to be executed. He ducked when the shot was fired - and the bullet lacerated horizontally across the back of his neck. James' mother, Lynette Ralfe, was not so fortunate. She was shot three times and died while running to the room to press the panic button. The English-speaking SA farmer told the British Broadcasting Corporation after the murder of his unarmed wife in March 2010: ‘calling for the murders of all white farmers (by Julius Malema, ANC youth league leader) is stupid and irresponsible. The farmers are the food-producers for millions of people. Indeed our records show that a great many farmers, smallholders and also a great many white people in the cities, are being murdered execution-style exactly as they tried to do to Ralfe:
* That same day a 46-year-old Afrikaner was also shot through his bedroom window as he slept at his farm near Potchefstroom. A few days later a 61-year-old was stabbed to death while he was asleep in his bed at a farm in Limpopo. And nothing of real value is hardly ever stolen in such execution-style deaths – which often also are accompanied by cruel tortures. The SAPS invariably lists such incredibly cruel deaths as ordinary crimes – describing them as ‘thwarted robberies’ to the news media whenever nothing vauable has been robbed.
The Times wrote in March: “The resurrection of Dubula Ibhunu, defended by senior ANC officials as little more then a ‘sentimental old struggle song’, has been greeted with alarm by Tom Stokes, of the opposition Democratic Alliance. He said the ANC’s continued association with the call to kill Boers could not be justified. “Any argument by the ANC that this song is merely a preservation of struggle literature rings hollow in the face of farming families who have lost wives, mothers and grandmothers,” he added.

“He was supported by Anton Alberts of the right-wing Freedom Front Plus party: “Malema’s comments are creating an atmosphere that is conducive to those who want to commit murder. He’s an accessory to the wiping out of farmers in South Africa.” Rossouw, the brother of the unarmed, murdered farmer Pieter Cillier, bristled as he pointed to the bullet holes in the panelled kitchen of the farmhouse near Ceres in the Western Cape. “They shot him through the fridge from the back door — the bullets came straight through here, into his heart. He never had a chance,” he said. Haniff Hoosen, the black secretary-general of the opposition party Independent Democrats, wrote on this subject in a letter to his ANC counterpart Gwede Mantashe that ‘the current climate about the singing of the song is reminiscent of pre-1994 intolerance... some amongst us have either failed to see the danger of our actions and words, or simply do not care. As a consequence thereof, they have regrettably been unable to resist the temptation of hate speech and the blatant promotion of racial intolerance and violence." In response to her comments, Freedom Front Plus leader Dr. Pieter Mulder, who also is the deputy-agriculture minister in the same Cabinet, said Sotyuo was stoking “racial tension”. Mulder said: “She has to especially be cautious not to become part of the generalizations against farmers and target them. As new deputy minister she will still have a lot to do with farm murders and the cruelty of farm murders, which take place easier in such a polarized climate. Judge Hlope's judgment in the Marthinus Esterhuizen case in Beaufort West, where he in an emotional manner referred to the accused that "he has no soul ... and has to go and rot in jail" could easily be generalized to the other side in the same manner. The same goes for the decision of the magistrate in Ventersdorp to grant bail to the accused in the Eugene Terre'Blanche murder case, while all the facts, such as that he is a Zimbabwean with definite possibilities to flee, had been ignored.To incite people racially in South Africa is no art.
