264 fertile maize farms in the Free State are failures: lying unused and empty -- but the ANC still keeps on confiscating commercial land…

More than 264 once very fertile and productive farms in the maize-belt of the Free State in South Africa now lay unused and empty – the black ‘beneficiaries’ of these formerly white-owned farms do not have the means nor the skills to undertake any farming activities. Democratic Alliance leader in the province Roy Jankielsohn, writes that ‘whenever such government projects fail, the ANC-regime just ‘buys up’ more land and ‘launches new projects. “Food-security, sustainability are secondary to the politics involved. We cannot allow commercial farmers to get the blame for the government’s disastrous ‘land-reform projects,’ he says. http://www.volksblad.com/MyVolksblad/Briewe/Soveel-plase-le-onbewerk-20101108
