Description
Smallholder Karel Koekemoer, 71 stabbed twice with knife, dies at hands of angry gardener Jacob Pantsi Mmekwa, 32 'in a fit of rage'. ------------------- http://afrikaans.news24.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Tuinier-skuldig-bevind-aan-moord-20120612 ------------------- June 12 2012. The Pretoria High Court ruled that 32-year-old Jacob Pantsi Mmekwa, who worked for Afrikaner pensioner-smallholder Karel Koekemoer for only six months, was guilty of stabbing his employer to death - according to the gardener while he was 'in a rage'. Mr Koekemoer's daughter Anja Swart found her father in a pool of blood on the bathroom floor of his smallholding outside Bultfontein, Pretoria after he'd failed to show up for supper at her house nearby. Mr Koekemoer died from two stab wounds in the neck. Mkwekwa said he stabbed the Afrikaner but said he was 'angry because Koekemoer accused him of stealing electric tools; that Mr Koekemoer let lose his dogs against him, threatened to kill him and cursed him with racist language. The younger man then stabbed Mr Koekemoer with his own knife after he took it away from the old man. Co-accused Levy Mthombeni, 21, was found not guilty after testifying that Mmbekwa had forced him át gunpoint to search Mr Koekemoer's house. Judge Cynthia Pretorius dismissed Mmekwa's statement that he'd never been inside the Koekemoer homestead and that he'd only stabbed him once: due to the forensic evidence submitted at the trial proving that he was lying.
