December 20 2010 - Beeld journalist Amanda Roestoff writes that Witpoortjie Roodepoort resident Nobbies Nobrega, 45 was stabbed to death with a screwdriver while enroute from Randfontein to Roodepoort today. A window of his double-cab bakkie was smashed and he was stabbed nine times with a screwdriver by persons or a person unknown. Then they ran – taking only his cellphone while leaving behind the unguarded bakkie and his other personal belongings such as a wallet… It’s being described as a ‘thwarted hijacking’, said his wife Mrs Elize Nobrega (35.
