•Luggage containing clothes was taken as well as cell phones but the suitcases were later found - but not the contents.
•In a second incident at the same resort, three mountain bikes worth R5,200 were stolen after thieves cut the fence to get in some time on Friday night. A case of theft and malicious damage to property has been opened.
At the Good Shepherd Retreat in Meerhof, an alarm was set off to which the response company reacted, but they were too late to recover the bedding and curtains that were stolen. Thieves had forced a window open at one of the cottages to gain entry.
At the Welgegund Pelindaba Mission, thieves smashed a back window before stealing a car radio worth R3 000 as well as a CD player and a battery worth R600.
At the Alpha Training and Conference Centre in Broederstroom, a sports bar was broken into and a DSTV decoder worth R1 900 and a DVD player worth R2 000 plus towels were taken.
•Criminals have targeted the area mainly to the south and west of Hartbeespoort Dam this weekend. Mr van der Spuy says that police are going to do crime prevention exercises to combat the situation in these Sectors Two and Three.
