Afrikaner farm-couple killed, Thabazimbi

Casper and Daleen Aucamp, 55 and 52, killed, game-farm Vandas, Limpopo, Dec 15 2010, nothing robbed: torched in car

Dec 18 2010 – THABAZIMBI - A day after Afrikaner farm-couple Casper and Daleen Aucamp, 55 and 52, had gone Christmas shopping with their 3 daughters in Rustenburg, their bodies were found near Dwaalboom inside the trunk of their torched Land Cruiser station wagon, reports Rapport journalist Celinda Groenewald. Police say they were attacked on Wednesday December 15 2010 on their wildlife farm Vandas near Thabazimbi, Limpopo and murdered while offloading their purchases. Nothing was robbed and the couple were identified by the jewellery they were still wearing.

Their youngest daughter Leonie Mans, 24, told Rapport newspaper that after they hadn’t heard from their parents upon their return to the farm, she and her sister Mandie Prodehl, 32, phoned a neighbour asking him to investigate. However the farmer couldn’t gain access to the property because all the gates, doors and windows were security locked. The sisters drove to the farm and asked the gardener where their parents and their vehicle could be. The worker told them the couple ‘had gone to buy animal feed in Dwaalboom’. Then a family friend phoned with the news that a burnt-out Land Cruiser was found on a dirt-road outside Dwaalboom. The women rushed there and confirmed that it was the vehicle belonging to their parents.

“Police only phoned later that afternoon to say there were two torched bodies in the trunk…”

“However the police only phoned us later that afternoon to tell us that they had found two torched bodies in the trunk.” The two sisters identified their parents through the JEWELLERY THEY WERE STILL WEARING. “The police said it seemed as if they were already dead when the car was torched,’ said Ms Mans.

Meanwhile a farm-worker has gone missing: however Dwaalboom police refused to confirm their claim that ‘bloodied clothes and a mop were found in his room’. The Aucamp couple is also survived by daughter Linda Bothes, 29, and two granddaughters, Marlie, 6 and Antoinette Prodehl, 5.

So cruel can they be…

Linda ‘s message on her Face book page today: “So cruel they can be and then to bring my mom’s handbag and say, ‘here’… (…) ”Mom and dad, how can one say thank you for everything you have meant to us, you were our heroes. I know that where mom and dad are now, you are safe and have no more pain and that nobody can ever hurt you again. I will always love you. Rest in peace’.http://www.rapport.co.za/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Limpopo-boer-en-vrou-se-lyke-verkool-in-eie-kar-gekry-20101218
