Hiding inside the legalese gobbledegook-jargon of yet another new black-economic-empowerment amendment in the labour law, with the magical word ‘transformation’ the key buzz word, the ANC-regime now demands that mine owners fire their white miners, -mining engineers and managers - or lose their mineral-rights licenses: just reading the law amendment involves negotiating a minefield of deliberate confusion, double-speak and hidden meanings… The message the regime gives to investors is however very clear: “invest with us but expect no profits.”

Under the new amendment, Government officials’ looting of commercial mining operations will be even more massive than it is today: by the end of 2014, mines are expected to “transform” 40% of all their top-management jobs; hand over 50% of their produced ‘consumer goods’ (details of results below) to the regime; 25% of its profits to “BEE entities’ and 70% of all its workersincluding all its managers from junior to top-level, must be black, qualified or not: the mines also are expected to somehow provide ‘skills enhancement’ training for unskilled blacks.
