Man shot in Alberton - reports
23 June 2010, 16:53 A 33-year-old man was in a critical condition in hospital after paramedics found him with a gunshot wound in his car on Wednesday afternoon, ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said. "Paramedics that arrived on the scene found the man still in the driver's seat of his Mazda bakkie, confused and dazed after allegedly being shot in the stomach," Vermaak said. The man, who "lost lots of blood during the incident" was rushed to the Alberton hospital for further treatment.Police z’ould not immediately confirm the incident’ -- t appeared the man was shot a few blocks away from where paramedics found him."The man explained that he drove off after the shooting and pulled over outside an office block in Alberton. Workers from the office block then called the emergency services after noticing him," Vermaak said. - Sapa

Bronkhorstspruit smallholder survives execution-style gunshot
A 26-year-old Bronkhorstspruit smallholder survived an execution-style gunshot wound to the head after an apparent house robbery in Bronkhorstspruit on Tuesday, paramedics said. Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said the man was in critical condition at the Pretoria East hospital. He was believed to have been shot at his house in the outlying areas in Bronkhorstspruit and taken to a local hospital.The hospital called Netcare 911 for assistance.
"Paramedics were flabbergasted to find that although the man was shot in the temporal area, he was still communicating with them," said Botha.He was stabilised and transported to the Pretoria East hospital."He is doing very well," said Botha late on Tuesday night.Bronkhorstspruit police " could not immediately confirm the incident". Probably too busy watching the WC2010.
